Small Market Programming: Solutions for When the Chips are Down
by Dale Desmond
Program Director
105-5 The Hawk KTHK-FM
Blackfoot, ID
What’s that old saying? You don’t know where you’re going if you don’t hear from PDs that have already been there. Well, it sounds right to me. Being a Small Market PD is so much different than it was even a few years ago and in Small Market Programming Solutions: When the Chips Are Down we will explore the challenges that face the small market programmer from time-management to dealing with record labels to making voice-trackers sound live. You’ll hear from current small market PDs as well as PDs from larger markets that did their time in the “minors” and what was and is successful for them. And a new twist “never doner” before at any CRS panel in history, the panelists will be playing poker while discussing these topics. Our panelists will include Rich Summers from Citadel in Boise, ID, Jeff Winfield from NRG Media in Cedar Rapids, IA, Christie Matthews from The Fox in Jonesboro, AR., and Dave Amick KUSO in Norfolk, IA. Clint Marsh will be the dealer/moderator from Talking Stick Comm. In Warsaw, IN.
