W.
Steven Martin started his Country radio career as
Morning Drive host at KRDS, Tolleson, Arizona. He
continued as a Morning host at KNIX/KTUF (Phoenix)
and then KBER (San Antonio). In 1977, he returned
to KNIX to work twenty-three years in Morning Drive.
Despite his remarkable radio career, he is best known
for his many Humanitarian achievements, especially
his Christmas toy drive which he started in 1978
and continues to be one of the largest charitable
endeavors in Phoenix to this day. W. Steven Martin
was inducted into the Country Music Disc Jockey Hall
of Fame in 2003.
