Lonnie
Bell is reputed as being the first Country disc jockey
in the Hawaiian Islands in 1953. By 1957 he was working
at KAGT Anacortes, Washington, where he helped to start
the career of Loretta Lynn. He worked at sixteen different
stations, mostly in the Spokane, Washington and Billings,
Montana markets. He is currently on the air at Montana¹s
Mighty 790. KGHL in Billings, where, according to the
station¹s press kit, Lonnie Bell's Classic Country
helps make the station the #1 choice with farmers and
ranchers throughout the region. Lonnie Bell was inducted
into the Country Music D J Hall of Fame in 2005.
