Michael's Biography

Board of Directors member, Michael Osterhout, passed away Saturday, June 26, 2010. His absence leaves many in the broadcasting community without his wide influence and valued friendship. Michael also leaves behind his wife, Marsha and his daughter, Sidney.

Michael was raised in Tampa, Florida and made much of his broadcasting career there, as well. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Mercer University, and his master’s degree from the University of South Florida. After serving his country in the United States Air Force, Michael first began his radio career with WDAE in Tampa. Upon his death, Michael was the Chief Operating Officer of Morris Communication’s MCC Radio LLC, where he assumed responsibility for both national and international operations.

Michael served on various boards throughout the broadcasting community, and was very involved in his local community. He was a member of the Young Presidents Organization, World Presidents Organization, and served on the Board of Directors of ABC Radio, the National Association of Broadcasters, the Pinellas Suncoast Chamber of Commerce Communications Committee, St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce Baseball Committee, the Florida Association of Broadcasters, and Country Radio Broadcasters, among others. He was also instrumental in the redesign of Lowry Park Zoo in Tampa.
